"Three years ago I wanted to start a real estate company," admits the Fray's Joe King on the band's website. Had it not been for his chance meeting with old schoolmate Issac Slade in a Denver music store in 2002 he may well have been writing up contracts rather than lyrics by now, but instead the two fell to composing around their (then) eccentric piano-guitar-vocals set-up. Bolstered by the rhythm section of Ben Wysocki and Dave Welsh the four-piece hit the Mile-High City's live scene, their brand of emotionally conscious, dynamic songwriting immediately striking a chord. Then, in 2004, local radio station KTCL picked up on a demo version of "Over My Head (Cable Car)", which duly garnered 'most played' status, prompting Epic to offer them a deal -- the first fruits of which being How To Save A Life.
